This year's Aviva Community Fund charity contest has started, so now is the chance to potentially make any ideas or plans to improve your community a reality. The first qualifying round runs from October 1st to October 15th, while the 2nd qualifying round starts on October 22nd and ends November 5th, 2012.
The Aviva Community Fund is important to me, because every community can use a helping hand including the one I live in. Our food bank is always low on food, yet high in demand. I always hear more about people donating food during the holidays, but food donations are needed year round. It is my favorite community oriented cause, because without food, it is impossible to survive.
The Aviva Community Fund competition offers Canadians $1,000,000 to lead, empower and support community initiatives across the country. By submitting your idea and rallying support from everyone that you know, positive things can happen. Whether you have a small or really big idea to improve your community, Aviva can potentially fund it. They will fund a minimum of one Small Idea (up to $50K), one Medium Idea ($50K - $100K), and one Large Idea ($100K - $150K). Ideas should be self-contained, without needing other pooled funds.
